Thanks to their misleading advertising and sponsorship deals, fossil fuel companies continue to enjoy the level of social acceptance and political access they need to block climate action and maintain the status quo. This prompted Greenpeace, along with more than 30 other non-profit organizations, to join the European Citizens’ Initiative for an EU-wide ban on advertising and sponsorships by fossil fuel companies.
